Kilkenny Arts Festival

Each year in August, the city’s historic churches, castle, courtyards, townhouses and gardens offer a magical setting for unique collaborations and intimate encounters between audiences and artists over a 10 day period.
Since 1974, Kilkenny Arts Festival has gathered many of the world’s best musicians, performers, writers and artists to Ireland’s medieval City each August.

Kilkenny Cat Laughs Festival

Long established as one of Ireland’s best comedy festivals The Kilkenny Cat Laughs Festival has had visitors to Kilkenny laughing every Summer since 1995.

Rhythm’ N Roots Festival

Since it began in 1998 the festival has grown each year. It is now one of most popular events in Kilkenny attracting 1000’s visitors each year who can wind their way through the medieval streets sampling the huge range of music in the 30 venues.
There’s a mixture of acts – both of old and new on the free pub gig trail and all styles are catered for, from swing to bluegrass, rockabilly to cajun, folk, blues and beyond.
There are both ticketed and free shows from early afternoon until late into the night.

Savour Food Festival 2018.

The Savour Food Festival in Kilkenny City, has developed a programme of activities, which embraces all sectors of the food community from artisan producers to restaurateurs, food agencies to food farmers.
Chef cooking demo’s, talks, workshops, competitions and unique dining events are amongst some of the attractions.
Usually held over the October Bank holiday each year this festival also features exquisite dinners, food & wine tasting, cookery demonstrations, a food trail, food markets, celebrity chef cookery classes and a gala dinner.
In addition there will also be lots of music and street entertainment.

Theater in Kilkenny

There are two Theaters in Kilkenny city. The Watergate Theater in Irishtown/Parliament Street and The Set Theater in Langtons Hotel on John Street.
Both are venues for plays, musicals and musical performances.
The Set Theatre is one of the most talked about venues in the county and can also be used for film and conferencing amongst others. Indeed more recently for civil ceremonies or wedding receptions with a unique twist, as it has its own private courtyard.
